Whilst looking for a bike ride in Oxfordshire (before ABC/Retirement), I'd stumbled across Wytham woods.
It looked interesting, and moreover you had to request a permit from Oxford University
"Wytham Woods form an iconic location that has been the subject of continuous ecological research programmes, many dating back to the 1940s. The estate has been owned and maintained by the University of Oxford since 1942. The Woods are often quoted as being one of the most researched pieces of woodland in the world, and their 1000 acres are designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest"
And as an added bonus, I'd managed to persuade Ant (an old work colleague) to join me, as he was on sabbatical.
The idea was we'd source and cook Oxford sausages, for lunch, but the butcher I'd order them from didn't come up trumps
The walk however was very good indeed. Worth the effort of the permit.
( No vid on this one - was too embarrassed - will need to go back and do one)
